This workshop will begin with an overview of the central nervous system, explaining the parts of the vagal system and how they are essential in emotional regulation based on the work by Deb Dana. By teaching parents identify how they experience activation in each state, parents can help their children identify and move in and out of states with greater control. Time will be given for participants to create their own “personal profile map” in order to gain knowledge and experience so that they can use the technique at home.
